When we look around today and see the world in chaos and pain, it reminds me that I can do better for the people of my community and state. I can stay strong when it is easiest to succumb to despair. I can remind my fellow Texans that this journey can only be accomplished one day at a time. There is no rush to get to tomorrow this journey that draws us closer to support each other, to stand together, to love one another is the true lesson of humanity.

I can’t imagine anyone hasn’t been affected by the Covid-19 global pandemic.  I have definitely learned how important it is to have a strong team and CONSTANT communication.  I’ve practiced in wartime radiology when I was stationed in Landstuhl, Germany during Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) after 9-11 and this felt very similar in many ways.  We adapted to the growing numbers of patients and used the resources we had while leadership made sure our safety was always the top priority.  I am so thankful for this and for the amazing adaptable teams I work with.  I’ll admit that I’m tired, as I’m sure many of you are, but I know you keep going just like I do; not because it’s a job, but because it’s our passion.  I also know medical imaging professionals are rarely given the credit we deserve, but I want to thank EACH and EVERY technologist, therapist, sonographer, dosimetrist, medical imaging professional for the tireless work you provide to your patients and your communities!  You as frontline workers deserve the world and I commend every one of you for your diligence in the face of danger.  I look forward to reading your stories.  Thank you and BeRAD!
