Nominations were made by the respective faculty of the students. The nominations were anonymized, and the nominees were ranked by the Board of Directors. Note: President Rodney Fisher, President-Elect Jeanifeer Lara, and Vice President Rachel Whatley recused themselves from this award because they all had students who were nominated. Vice President-Elect Kate Verdun and Secretary/Treasurer-Elect Sebastian Medina voted in their place.

All applicants wrote a 500-word essay on “When you become TSRT President, what will you advocate for, and what will you implement?” Fourteen applications were submitted.
